In 2008 he spent several months in Chiang Mai, Thailand. While there, he attended ITM, to study Thai Massage under Chongkol Setthakorn and spent 40 hours under the private tutelage of Master Ajarn Sinchai Sukparset. He rounded out his journey practicing vipassana meditation under the direction of Ajarn Suppan, the abbot of Wat Rampoeng. Michael returned to Virginia with a new focus and a grounded sense of purpose. In 2011 he started a private practice, FLOW Massage & Bodywork. Having graduated from Advanced Fuller School of Massage Therapy, he is nationally and state certified in therapeutic massage and bodywork. In 2017 he completed a YTT 200 curriculum under the nurturing guidance of Tamara McGuire.
